Uncle Pecos Speaks

I was reading Time magazine this morning when I read something that struck me. They had Ten Questions for John Bolton. One of the questions:

Q: U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL KOFI ANNAN HAS CALLED ON THE WEST TO STEP UP EFFORTS TO STOP THE KILLING IN DARFUR. IS GENOCIDE THE RIGHT TERM FOR WHAT'S HAPPENING?
A: Sounds right to me.

Q: SO SHOULDN'T THERE BE A MORE AGGRESSIVE RESPONSE?
A: It's easy to be casual about putting military people into play when their lives can be lost. You could end up with a lot of dead military people and not save a single civilian. I don't think that's a sign of success.
Do you see where I'm going with this? Do these guys even listen to what they say when they speak? Or do they just barf up whatever talking points randomly spin into place like so much refrigerator poetry?

Seriously, MG, can't you just support the troops for once? JUST SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!! Where's your yellow ribbon car decal anyway???

I don't have a car, but if I did, it would be a Hummer, or maybe an Escalade, and it would have FOUR yellow ribbons on it. A flag across the back window saying "these colors don't run" and probably a Calvin pissing on Saddam Hussein's face. Hells yeah! Pimp by ride, beeeotch!!
