Real Judicial Activism

There are a plethora of reasons for the Democrats to oppose Priscilla Owen, the extreme right-wing activist judge who is going to be nominated to a federal court next week, setting in motion the Republican's "nuclear option" and most likely permanently changing our system of government for the worse. But Lou Dubose goes into one of the big ones - namely how she used her standing as a Texas judge to rewrite laws passed by the Texas legislature [sometimes called judicial activism] in order to protect Ford Motor Company, whose defense team contributed money to her campaign [sometimes called corruption], from a lawsuit in which they were found negligent, and in so doing ended up killing a quadriplegic 14 year old boy on a ventilator.

Read it and weep.
