Look Who’s Honoring Me Now

I was asked by the Young Professionals of Chicago to write an editorial about Barack Obama. I immediately informed them that I am neither from Chicago nor professional in any sense of the word, but they insisted. I complied with their wishes. Who am I to deny those up and comers out in the Central Time Zone the gift of my wisdom?

Anyway, enjoy...

Let's be clear here: you were not asked by the Young Professionals of Chicago; you were asked by me...also not originally from Chicago nor remotely professional in attitude (although your boy does need to get dressed all pretty for work each day).

And furthermore, after bestowing on you such an honor and inviting you back for a second go-around, it shouldn't be my responsibility to plug my own blog or drive traffic to my MySpace page. Thanks, ass.

Yes. Let's be clear. A representative of YPC, and sitting member of their executive board, asked me to write an editorial for them. That representative happens to be a personal acquaintance of mine. He manages the aforementioned blog, and is a wailing crybaby who is unable to allow someone to swim in his own egomaniacal narcissism for a single day.

Um...did you have a point, or was that supposed to be insulting? I mean, there's plenty of room for everybody to swim in my egomaniacal narcissism. Come on in - the water's great (because it casts my glorious reflection, much like it did for Narcissus himself...get it?).

Are you trying to catch me in some linguistic technicality, Mr. Safire?
