I Hate Arcade Fire

Are you happy now? I said it. This doesn’t sit well with almost all of my friends, but I find them (the band, not my friends) pretentious, repetitive, and most of all boring. And trust me, I tried.

Courtesy of The Minority Whip, (who btw - did manage to get to one of the church shows), we find this hilarious short film about the new hipster gods and their to-die-for concert series in New York last month. Enjoy...

i can't think of anything pithy,
my guitar player (a total ace) digs them and tried to get me to do the same,i couldn't.
i like bombast but not this,
they give canadians a bad name
(brian adams notwithstanding)

Great to know I am also not alone in thinking that this band is shallow and devoid of catchy rhythms or appealing musical qualities. The one good thing I can say about Arcade Fire is that they give me hope. Hope that I can make a lot of money singing because I can sing better than they can.

Anyone feel like starting a "this steaming turd has more friends than Arcade Fire?" Does AC even have a Facebook page or is that beneath them? I'm from Montreal and I HATE Arcade Fire so much it's a miracle I don't heckle them when they pollute the local coffe shop with their presence...

Worst band .... EVER!

Hello,

I actually like their music on some tracks, but can't stand the vocals for hours, and the lyrics elude me, so i find it a bit boring after a while.

Prefer Pink Floyd for atmosphere anyway.

I've been leaving comments about how much I hate this pretentious group of 'alternative' idiots with their $55 'hoodie' sweatshirts for sale on their website and historically challenged music which rips off 'Honky Tonk Woman's' opening riff on 'Mad Dogs and Englishman' and 'The Supremes' all in one song.

I hate arcade fire more than anything I know in this world. How are they famous? They can't write, can't sing, can't play, and can't dress. Above all, they ACT like they can. They're trying to be innovative and fresh when really they're just marketing bad music. Fuck. You. Acrade. Fire.

Never heard of them before they won a Grammy, so I checked them out on YouTube. My response was,

"Really? REALLY?"

I so wanted to be happy for the unsung alternative band topping all of the more commercial acts at the Grammy Awards, but sadly, I was thoroughly unimpressed with this band.

I get you ladies want Montreal to be known for April Wine and Safety Dance. This is the thing, there is more to music than what Jon Tesch plays..

LOL

So annoying! After they won the brit awards........I really wanted to like them but I couldn't. They didn't do anything for me. Boring, horrible hair and can't even sing........opposite of my favourite band PLAN B <33

Arcade Fire is the best band out there!! They connect with their fans through their music. If you don't like them the maybe its not the band that's the problem...maybe its you. So ha!

I understand that these these are your opinions, and you all are entitled for them. I say this particularly for those of you who know the band's music and have made an effort to like them. For those of you that base all your hatred off of the performance you saw at the Grammys, however, I would like to suggest you give them a closer look before jumping to that conclusion. Love them or hate them, they are an extremely relevant band right now, and they have a very devoted fan base for a reason. Why not give them a shot before deciding that you hate them...who knows? You may not regret it...

Dude, I hate them too. One of my coworkers subject everyone to listening to her Arcade Fire playlist for 2 and half hours. I wanted to blow my brains out. And for the record, I don't watch the Grammys. Ever.

Hi, I'm back and I'd just like to add that I've changed my mind! I listened to The Suburbs and was actually pretty impressed! It's one of the best albums I've heard in years!.......I still hate their earlier work though! :P
